Jamie Chu was recommended to represent me as a first-time home buyer. She did a great job in helping me understand the role of real estate investing. I found her to be extremely candid when informing me of my options as a buyer. The home buying process seemed daunting at first, but with Jamie’s guidance, the course became much more manageable. I found her helpful, knowledgeable, and most important to me, she was always available to answer my questions. If for some reason she didn’t know the answer to my questions, she pointed me in the right direction encouraging comprehensive research. Realtors can sometimes be ambitious in selling you the property they want to sell. Jamie was dedicated to finding the home I was looking for.
Jamie’s professionalism had an appropriate impact on me as a first-time home buyer. Some buyers might enjoy a staunchly “all about business ” approach in a real estate agent. Jamie certainly fits that role, but she adds a warmth and personal touch I didn’t encounter in other real estate agents. I know she has a lot of clients, but she made me feel like I was her only client. She inspired confidence every time we spoke on the phone or in person. When she said she was going to do something, she always followed through. That type of personalized approach can’t be taught, it just comes naturally to her. It’s something fundamentally genuine and it earned my trust.
When I finally made an offer on the home I eventually closed on, there were three other offers I had to compete with. I found the situation stressful since the home was already at the top of my budget. The last thing that I wanted was to get into a bidding war during the wrap-up of the home buying season. If you have ever shopped for a home in the Bozeman area, you understand the end of the season crunch. Behind the scenes , I could tell that Jamie was talking to other agents to figure out how serious the other buyers were, and she was trying to gauge what the seller was thinking. I did have to extend my budget, but not nearly as much as I had initially anticipated. It turned out Jamie’s ability to negotiate behind the scenes saved me from having to make a counteroffer much higher than the one I had made.
After the offer was accepted, Jamie continued to keep me informed of the escrow progress. She worked with the seller’s real estate agent to facilitate the buy sell agreement in a timely manner. As I recall, there were no Earth Shattering problems. The sellers turned out to be challenging to negotiate with, but Jamie took that in stride.
With my experience working with Jamie, I am confident she would be able to help other first-time home buyers achieve their dream of home ownership. I have already recommended her to other people, and I have no dilemma in continuing to do so. When the time comes for me to sell, I already have a preferred real estate agent in Jamie Chu.
